The Christ-centered community and being able to build connections with people are among Richie Bailey’s favorite aspects of being student Warner Pacific University.
“I believe the community, and how close-knit it is, makes (WPU) stand out,” Bailey said.
Part of his own involvement in the WPU community comes through playing on the men’s soccer team and being on the Chapel Team.
“We help people sign in and just pray with people,” he said. “We help people with their relationship with Christ. I lead a men’s bible study.”
He felt his own relationship with Christ deepen when he was around 17 years old, he said.
“I had the privilege to grow up in a Christian household,” Bailey said. “It wasn’t something that was new to me.” Bailey hails from Northamptonshire, Wellingborough, about 45 minutes from London.
“I believe the Lord called me to psychology as I can help counsel people through trauma and give them practical as well as biblical advice,” Bailey said.
Now in his junior year, he said after graduation he hopes to provide humanitarian aid while sharing the gospel.
Bailey appreciates the area surrounding WPU as well.
“I love anything outdoors – hiking, running, cycling, waterfalls,” he said. “I go to Mount Tabor most days. I love fishing when I have time. I love reading, going to coffee shops and going to the gym.”
To anyone considering attending Warner Pacific University, Bailey has this to say: I would tell them this is a great place to grow in faith and for your relationship with Christ to be strengthened.
